The events of the weekend prove that the phrase ‘corrupt to the core’ is the best description of those who rule us. Join Bobby and Jordan as they discuss this and other important facets of our rapidly changing society.

There are at least three dangers that threaten the Church within, and the authorities need to awaken to the fact that the people should be warned unceasingly against them. As I see these, they are flattery of prominent men in the world, false educational ideas, and sexual impurity.
Joseph F. Smith
“Mormonism is truth; and every man who embraces it feels himself at liberty to embrace every truth: consequently the shackles of superstition, bigotry, ignorance, and priestcraft, fall at once from his neck; and his eyes are opened to see the truth, and truth greatly prevails over priestcraft.Joseph Smith Jr.
Pre-listen: Hunter should never have been convicted for gun charges. Pardoning was the correct move for this “crime “
As far as one hour church, I will state the obvious:
If you create a product that a particular audience is compelled to buy, if the product is not very good, they will clamor for less of it.
I am confident that a larger percentage of LDS members attend out of duty rather than desire.
Where did they go wrong? I think it was in the works for several decades. Here is the pattern they were given:
5 And the church did meet together oft, to fast and to pray, and to speak one with another concerning the welfare of their souls…
9 And their meetings were conducted by the church after the manner of the workings of the Spirit, and by the power of the Holy Ghost; for as the power of the Holy Ghost led them whether to preach, or to exhort, or to pray, or to supplicate, or to sing, even so it was done.
This is where th yea ended up:
They meet together weekly to glorify their leaders (regurgitating conference talks) and discuss how “all is well in Zion, yea Zion prospereth.”
Their meetings are no longer guided by the spirit regarding what to do but instead are tightly scripted by headquarters and correlation. The have taken the life out of the organization. I typically blame the three A’s (attorneys, actuaries, and accountants) for most of what happens at church headquarters as they seem to be the source of most revelation these days. The 15 A’s (Apostles) that stand as figureheads are all subservient to the other three A’s.
Perhaps the Church has entered the AI age in recent decades, better put 3AI (attorneys, actuaries, accountants and investors).
I’m only four minutes into the podcast, so maybe it’s too early to declare an unofficial theme song for this episode, but I’m doing it anyway, because it’s a good song:
Incubus – “Pardon Me”

It’s hard to believe that this songs is 25 years old. It’s even harder to believe that Reebok released a women’s “Incubus” athletic shoe.
Jordan – Just to clarify your clarification: My comment was only in regards to Apple and Samsung. Neither Samsung nor Apple invented the smartwatch–there were others long before. However, Samsung did release at least four smartwatch models (incidentally, all rectangular) prior to Apple’s first smartwatch.

P.S. A slightly altered version of this “1984” quote is uttered by Rage Against the Machine’s Zack de la Rocha in “Testify.” Maybe this should have been the episode theme song? “Testify” and “Pardon Me” both came out the same year.

Unfortunately, they rage for the machine now, individually.
Apart from the occasional reunion, they haven’t been raging against very much during the past decade. They joined the club selling expensive tickets and $50 t-shirts long ago. I understand that they’ve broken up for the third time.

Post listen — so, that’s pretty crazy that Joe Biden as pardoned Hunter for a decade’s worth of nefarious deeds, beyond just the gun conviction.
I don’t know that Trump will pardon the January 6’ers because on January 7th of 2021, he said to throw the book at them. I don’t know that he cares about them that much, to be honest.

“tried to fake the second coming when they foisted Barak Obama on us”
It would be wrong to have this Title without this song in the comments…
