Bobby’s pronunciation of Utah’s Governor last name has a strong, at times, “ck” accentuation at the end. A deceptive way to verbally describe his strong emotions against the governor’s policies. I guess we’re trying to keep the podcast family oriented. I’m ALL RIGHT with that! 😉

A few comments about the first 10 minutes of your latest edition: You’ve got a great memory to recall the Simpsons episode about Marge protesting Itchy & Scratchy! We watched it just last year. It’s one of the earlier episodes, as we started with the first season. It’s a good one. (It’s probably difficult to recall without the music playing that it isn’t the William Tell Overature, but rather a very popular part of Beethoven’s 6th symphony known for being used in Fantasia.) BTW, “The Simpsons” isn’t even close to the longest running TV show. Plenty of shows are much longer. I think it’s the longest running animated series, or American-produced scripted series. Very long, but there is a caveat. Shows like “The Tonight Show,” “Doctor Who,” and “Music and the Spoken Word” were around well before “The Simpsons” and they’re still going.

Those Parental Advisory labels… I’ve always understood them to be attributed to Al Gore’s wife. Maybe Hillary Clinton was involved, too? I just watched the Megamind clip. You’re forgiven for suggesting it’s AC/DC, but it’s rather Guns ‘N Roses. “Welcome to the Jungle” is one of their only songs I recognize. 80’s hair bands are mostly anathema to me. GNR’s rivalry against Nirvana paralleled my sentiments.

    I should say “I think it’s Beethoven’s 6th.” I didn’t verify and it’s been a long time since I heard the reference.

That’s what made me decide to comment, since I thought you knew the music well. (Maybe not GNR, but that’s forgivable.) It’s always tough going live. I get the impression that you guys aren’t doing a lot of editing. I was also super impressed with your vivid memory of the cartoons.

The “Police run by the rich” reminds me of the police car permanently parked in front of the Huntsman home after their son had been kidnapped (by his friends) (not to make light of that situation…real money was being ransomed even if real danger might not have been). The family had made a grant for two full-time officers so that their home security could be enhanced.

Isn’t there a particular song you’re supposed to sing while washing your hands to ensure a thorough job of removing Coronavirus germs?

Singing “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” by R.E.M. not only gets my hands clean, but also calms my nerves about the impending apocalypse and has done wonders for my enunciation prowess.

Besides the theme song to “The Beverly Hillbillies,” working with “If you could hie to kolob,” the theme song to “Gilligan’s Island,” “House of the Rising Sun” by The Animals, “Itsy Bitsy Spider,” and the verses of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” are also in common meter.

“Ye Elders of Israel” works to the tune of Red Hot Chili Pepper’s “Under the Bridge.”

I just wanted to share a road sign that I saw at least 20 times while driving through New Mexico recently. I have a picture of it, if you’d like, but it reads:

    CASH FOR VAX
    VACCINENM.ORG
    GET YOUR SHOTS

They are giving away $10,000,000 in prize money with a grand prize of $5,000,000 to some lucky person.

It’s just sad that there is such a huge push to convince people to take this supposed “safe and effective” vaccine.
