Mark 16:9 also mentions the casting out of seven demons. The verb there is ekballo, versus exerchomai. It also can imply a “bringing forth” or “bringing out of.” The implication is Jesus brought Mary through or out of the seven heavenly heavenly realms. (In both Luke and Mark daimonion is neuter plural.)

    Bobby–

The reason why it matters if Rome was a good empire vs ancient nazis is because of how it fits into The Narrative.

If The Narrative is that “Jesus was just a chill hippie dude who taught us to be nice, but definitely wasn’t a God and of course never made at-one-ment for us and absolutely was never resurrected because miracles don’t really happen because Science!”–

–(and this is The Narrative taught by left-wing scholars of religion)–

–then Jesus needs to have something more distinctive about him than just being a nice guy, since there’s lots of nice guys out there.

So what they need and want is for Jesus to be the start of a proletariat revolution, and this revolution needs an enemy (and this enemy can’t be the Jews of Jesus’ day, since that would be anti-semitic).

So The Narrative needs Rome to be Ancient Nazis.

    Bobby & Jordan:

Suppose Amazon gave you $500 million to make a TV show. What would you make? What story would you tell?

If it were me, I’d make a video game. On the surface, it would be Grand Theft Auto–you murder and rob and have a good time living a life of crime. But, the game never tells you this, but if you consistently eschew evil you end up on a completely different game in which eventually you will be approached by a true messenger in disguise and offers you a different path in which you can ascend to something greater.
