Have we, as a society, devolved in our communication skills due to technology? Are our not-in-person digital interactions creating chaos rather than promoting cohesion? Join Bobby and Jordan for the discussion.
Some people like to listen to us faster… (We sound smarter.):Change playback speed real time: 1x – 1.25x – 1.5x – 1.75x – 2x
I download the episode. The same thing happened last week. I clicked to download and it didn’t work so I listened through the browser.
I think I’ve got that fixed. There were a few problems when I switched to HTTPS and made everything secure for your peace of mind. I mean, I’m pretty sure we lost 100s of thousands of listeners over the http vs https problem. It really was a black hole, a hackers’ paradise so to speak. Mea culpa.
Thank you Jordan. I just tried again and it worked. Just remember me when all the 100s of thousands of listeners get on board after this change. I stayed loyal from the beginning.
One other thing about online communication that’s difficult is that I’ve ended up in conversations with people who are nucking futs.
Weird… Crazy people on the internet … hmm… !!!
You were talking about Joseph’s presidential campaign as a threat to the existing powers–is there much evidence about this? I always assumed he was a fringe candidate that only a few Mormons would vote for.

I don’t know of any real evidence except the historic pattern of corruption. (like described in the Book of Mormon.)
You’re right he was a fringe candidate. I don’t think they were worried about him winning. I think the bigger issue was that Joseph’s movement was growing rapidly and his influence was increasing especially regionally. Then when he was killed the movement was fractured and subdued. The powers that be essentially were able to place any question of how to handle the Mormons on hold and it didn’t get resolved until after the war between the states.
I suspect the eastern powers were involved in some way but that’s just a suspicion. Can’t remember what exactly I said but that’s my clarification. I’m confident there was a group of people in that power structure that wanted him gone or dealt with.
